The UK Civil Aviation Authority, in preparation for the end of the EU transition period, has launched UK General Aviation opportunities, a consultation. CAA would like to understand how it can help the general aviation community and its associated businesses to flourish after leaving EASA as well as the priorities of those who are not part of this community when considering the future of general aviation in the UK. The consultation will close on Dec. 18, 2020.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China has participated in a teleconference of the ICAO Council Aviation Recovery Task Force, during which Shanghai Airport Authority shared its experience and best practices in epidemic prevention and control. Shanghai adopted various measures during deplaning and arrival, such as contactless procedures for passengers to go through the airport, digital identity management, cloud services for epidemic prevention and control, contactless shopping and catering services, a WeChat mini-app for reporting health information and immediate disinfection of hands and devices by inspection personnel after checking each passenger.

India’s Director General of Civil Aviation is inviting applications from Indian nationals for engagement as flight operations inspectors in various categories, on a contract basis, initially for a period of one year, or until the incumbents attain the age of 65 years, or until the posts are filled on regular basis, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

On Oct. 28-30, 2020, a meeting was held by Rosaviation via videoconference to prepare and provide air traffic control and radio support for flights in the autumn-winter period 2020-21. Key topics were analysis of the state of flight safety in the organization of air traffic in the spring-summer period of 2020, analysis of past aviation incidents and adoption of preventive measures to prevent similar aviation incidents in the future. The meeting also discussed transition to the new airspace structure of Moscow and its adjacent zones as a unified air traffic management system, including readiness of air traffic control systems, flight radio and telecommunications for the new airspace structure.

Transport Canada has issued airworthiness directive CF-2020-43 for De Havilland Aircraft of Canada DHC-8-400s, -401 and -402s, requiring inspection possible replacement of main landing gear drag strut assembly, effective Nov. 4, 2020.
