Air Transat and Porter Airlines are pushing forward with their new joint venture after gaining approval for the tie-up from Canadian regulators a few weeks ago.
With 75 firm orders for the E195-E2, as well as 25 more options, it appears the aircraft will also be used to bump up capacity on current Dash 8-400 routes.
The joint venture is an enhanced partnership Porter’s top executive describes as having “the potential to transform the competitive landscape in Canada.”
From Jan. 16, 2024, Porter will open daily service between Toronto Pearson and Los Angeles, with daily service to San Francisco starting nine days later.
Canadian carrier Porter Airlines' new routing between Winnipeg and Toronto Pearson (YWG) will mark the seventh destination the airline serves from YWG.
Embraer announced two firm orders for the Embraer 175 and 195-E2 at the Paris Air Show on June 20 and confirmed the entry of Avolon as another E2 lessor.
