British Eurofighter Typhoons and Norwegian Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighters have performed their first landings and takeoffs from road runways.
The first two—part of an order of 12—of the Korea Aerospace Industries FA-50 light attack aircraft arrived on July 8 after being airlifted into Poland.
The platforms will be used by the Polish Air Force with their operations likely focused along the country’s border with Belarus and Russian exclave Kaliningrad.
German aircraft responding to Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) missions will be able to operate in Polish airspace and vice-versa in an arrangement that mirrors a similar pact between the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
