Finnair resumed non-stop scheduled services between its Helsinki hub and the US city of Miami in December 2014, introducing a three times weekly operation using an Airbus A340 from December 16, 2014 until March 21, 2015 and will resume the route later this year.
The airline plans to launch operations on May 30, 2015 with a special Boeing 737-800 passenger charter between its Miami International Airport base and Baltimore Washington International. Air France has announced it will deploy an Airbus A380 on its Paris Charles de Gaulle – Miami International route this winter. The flag carrier confirms the Super Jumbo will replace a Boeing 777 on its daily flight on the route from December 1, 2014 through to the end of the winter schedule on March 28, 2015.

UK leisure carrier Thomas Cook Airlines is to launch new long-haul links to the United States from London Stansted, Manchester and Glasgow as part of its expanded summer 2015 programme. The long-haul growth will be supported by a major investment in upgrading its Airbus A330 fleet to offer a much higher level of comfort to Transatlantic passengers.
