Troubled Bombardier late Monday announced that Eric Martel, president of its Business Aircraft division, will leave the company to pursue other opportunities. He will be replaced by former Learjet chief David Coleal, who is currently executive vice president at Spirit Aerosystems. Coleal ran Learjet from 2008-2011. “We’ve got a great product line. Now we must focus on execution,” he told ShowNews yesterday.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia-based Alpha Star Aviation Services has contracted Jet Aviation to complete an ACJ A319 and an ACJ A330. The aircraft will be delivered to Jet’s Basel Completions Center in the fourth quarter of this year. Alpha Star CEO Salem Abaid Al Muzaini, seen here (left) celebrating the deal with Jet Aviation Group president Rob Smith said, “Jet Aviation has an excellent reputation for the quality of its cabin interiors, which is backed by comprehensive capabilities and a willingness to invest in cutting edge technology.

At EBACE yesterday Wheels Up exercised its option to purchase the next 35 King Air 350i turboprops from its order placed in 2013 for up to 105 aircraft. It was the largest order in history for general aviation turboprop aircraft. To date, Wheels Up has taken delivery of 31 of that initial order of 35, and also received 10 factory-refurbished Citation Excel/XLSs.
