China Airlines (CAL) has extended its existing Total Component Support (TCS) contract with Lufthansa Technik for a minimum of a further six years, the companies said Feb. 14.

The agreement covers component support for the Taiwanese flag-carrier’s 23-strong Airbus A330 fleet. Lufthansa Technik also provides component services for the company’s A350 fleet, including simulator components and APUs.

“The reliable and high-quality services we have experienced since 2010 had convinced us to extend the contract,” CAL VP engineering division Jason Tsai said. “A stable operation is crucial for us and Lufthansa Technik has proven to be a dependable partner.”

The China Airlines Group has a 110-strong fleet. Skyteam member CAL is the largest airline within the group and is ranked among the top five air cargo operators in the world, with 18 Boeing 747-400Fs and three 777F dedicated freighters. Mandarin Airlines and LCC Tigerair Taiwan are the other airlines in the group, which also includes airport and hotel interests.
