Company Origins
Founded more than 20 years ago in Derby, located in England's East Midlands region, BCT Aviation Maintenance specializes in Part 145 line and base maintenance services and works with more than 50 airline customers globally as well as lessors and VVIP and private operators.

On-Site Capacity and Aircraft Serviced
The majority of its maintenance activity is carried out at its 'Hangar 30' facility, opened in 2021. The hangar has a capacity of around 26,000 sq.ft2 and can accommodate one narrowbody aircraft at a time. The MRO specialist provides base maintenance services for Boeing 737 CL/NG and Airbus A320 aircraft types on site. BCT is growing its capabilities and has recently submitted an application to the UK Civil Aviation Authority to add C check capability to its Derby facility.

Additional Services and Line Maintenance Stations
Along with its base maintenance services, BCT also provides paint livery technical support, end-of-lease services, managed parking and specialist maintenance packages for Airbus, Boeing and Embraer aircraft. The company also operates a network of line maintenance stations for both narrowbody and widebody aircraft across the UK and Ireland. In the UK, this network is comprised of sites at its East Midlands Airport base along with stations in Birmingham and Manchester. Its Irish stations are located at airports in Dublin and Shannon.

Aircraft Parts Storage
To support its MRO operation, BCT stocks parts on site to ensure supply and access to parts, equipment and tooling. In the company’s maintenance and aircraft parts storage space (pictured), it keeps stores of maintenance equipment and tools along with several aircraft parts supplied by its airline and leasing customers. BCT notes that acquiring in flight-critical components and parts kits from OEMs has further compounded existing supply chain obstacles in recent times.

Sheet Metal Workshop
Also within its base maintenance facility is a small sheet metal workshop, which is dedicated to conduct any precise structural metal repair when needed.

Digitalizing Maintenance
As part of efforts to digitalize its maintenance operation, BCT signed up for Rusada's Envision software last month. The company had been relying on a system of spreadsheets and paper records to operations, but sought a digital solution after experiencing a lack of cross-department visibility. An in-house team of implementation specialists has started deploying Envision Base & Line MRO, Inventory Management, Human Resources and Quality & Safety modules with full rollout of the software expected later this year.
