DUBAI—Spirit AeroSystems signed an agreement with Joramco on March 1 at MRO Middle East, making the Amman, Jordan-based MRO an authorized service center.
This follows a memorandum of understanding that the two companies signed in 2022.
Jormaco initially will provide nacelle repair services for IAE V2500, CFM International CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engines, although the companies anticipate expanding the capabilities to other platforms, including widebody aerostructures, such as on the Boeing 777.
“Joramco and Spirit will also be codeveloping repairs, which Joramco will implement,” says Kailash Krishnaswamy, SVP of Spirit AeroSystems Aftermarket Solutions.
The work will start immediately and follows similar agreements that Spirit has signed with GAMECO in China and GMR in India to make repairs available locally for its customers. It also launched a joint venture with Evergreen Aviation Technologies in Taiwan in 2022.
These agreements “offer a sustainable solution to our regional customers that lower logistics costs while maintaining quality of service with a reputable local provider,” says Krishnaswamy. He adds that “we are always on the lookout for more partnerships and will continue to assess them as the business needs evolve.”
Joramco, the engineering arm of DAE, provides a wide range of aircraft MRO services across narrowbody and widebody fleets and is certified by many international regulatory authorities, include EASA, FAA and the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission.
