The modernization of U.S. nuclear weapons includes the stationing of new B61-12 gravity bombs in Germany, the news magazine Der Spiegel reports in its latest edition.

Series production of the new bombs will begin in 2020, after which they will be stored in Büchel, south-western Germany, according to the magazine, adding that the Luftwaffe is already preparing the Tornado bombers based there to carry them.
