2015 Royal International Air Tattoo Highlights

A Meteor, Tornado and Typhoon head the static line-up at RAF Fairford. In total, 232 aircraft from 27 air arms representing 22 countries took part in the airshow.

This Czech air force aircraft is painted in the white and grey colors of a World War II B-24 Liberator bomber flown by a Czech squadron as part of the Royal Air Force’s Coastal Command.

The Polish air force brought some of its Russian-built hardware, including this Mikoyan MiG-29 "Fulcrum." 

The Air Tattoo celebrated 35 years since the creation of the Tri-National Tornado Training Establishment, the organization that trained Panavia Tornado pilots from Germany, Italy and the U.K. until 1999. 

Finnish air force Capt. Ville Uggeldahl won the trophy for Best Solo Jet display for flying this F-18 Hornet.

With the end of flying displays by the Avro Vulcan toward the end of this year, the Cold War bomber flew with the Royal Air Force Aerobatic team, the Red Arrows, during the show to mark its final display season.

The Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force Kawasaki P-1 maritime patrol aircraft conducted a short flying display, demonstrating a relatively short takeoff roll and high maneuverability.

The U.K. Royal Air Force painted a Eurofighter Typhoon in the colors of a World War II Hawker Hurricane as part of the commemorations for the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

French display team Ramex Delta flies a pair of Dassault Mirage 2000Ns in close formation. The type will be replaced in French air force service in 2018.

Poland sent one of its Mi-14 Haze amphibious helicopters to the show. The type is due to be replaced in the coming years by the Airbus H225M Caracal.

The Japanese Kawasaki P-1 took pride of place in the airshow’s static park along with a number of other maritime patrol aircraft types.
