Raisbeck Engineering’s Swept Blade Propellers for Beechcraft King Air C90 series received European Aviation Safety Agency certification. When included in the EPCI Performance package for the King Air C90 and E90 series, the Swept Blade modification enables full operational use of increased takeoff and landing weights of 10,500 lb. and 9,700 lb., respectively, improved takeoff and landing field lengths, better climb and cruise performance and overall quieter operations. Jointly developed by Raisbeck and Hartzell propeller, they were approved by FAA in January.
AIRBUS HELICOPTERS AS332L1 and EC225LP helicopters [Docket No. FAA-2014-0306; Directorate Identifier 2013-SW-046-AD; Amendment 39-17850; AD 2014-10-03] – relocating the power supply circuit breaker source of one engine’s multi-purpose air intake (MPAI). This AD is prompted by a report that power loss to the MPAI could open the engine air intakes, which could result in engine ice ingestion during flight in icing conditions.
KEES BLEKXTOON was appointed senior advisor for Columbia Helicopters. He will support the company’s marketing efforts in the Netherlands and India. Blekxtoon previously served as president for The Boeing Company in Northern and Western Europe and president of Stork/Fokker International. He is currently senior aerospace industry advisor to Tata TCS Group of India.
