Flight Calibration Services has signed a firm order with Diamond Aircraft for its second DA62, a month after it accepted delivery of its first DA62. The company has grown more than 30% a year over the past few years, it said. The DA 62 will support that growth.
MB Aerospace has completed its acquisition of Vac Aero, based in Poland, from its parent company, Vac Aero International in Canada, the company said. The business employs more than 100 workers at two sites in Kalisz and Rzeszow, Poland, and specializes in coatings for aero-engine and industrial gas turbine components.
Safran Helicopter Engines and Hindustan Aeronautics have agreed to establish a support center in India for national and international rotorcraft customers, The venture will open in the coming months, it said. The center will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for Safran TM333 and HAL Shakti engines installed on HAL-built helicopters with plans to enlarge the business to include other engines. The joint venture is part of a “Made-in-India” initiative.

Airplanes Challenger 600 Series Aircraft [Docket No. FAA-2015-8129; Directorate Identifier 2014-NM-197-AD; Amendment 39-18573; AD 2016-13-09] The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Bombardier, Inc. Model CL-600-2B16 (CL-604 Variant) airplanes. This AD was prompted by a determination that certain maintenance tasks for the horizontal stabilizer trim actuator (HSTA) are inadequate. This AD requires revising the maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new airworthiness limitations for the HSTA.
Pacific Aerospace Limited Airplanes [Docket No. FAA-2016-5578; Directorate Identifier 2016-CE-005-AD; Amendment 39-18587; AD 2016-14-06] The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2006-13-05 for certain Pacific Aerospace Limited Model 750XL (type certificate previously held by Pacific Aerospace Corporation Ltd.) airplanes. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product.
