The Pilatus PC-12 single-engine turboprop fleet has surpassed 10 million flight hr. since the first aircraft made its inaugural flight in May 1991.
Since then, nearly 2,000 PC-12s have been delivered. The fleet has recorded more than 9.3 million landings, with four aircraft landing more than 50,000 times, the company reports. Of the total fleet, 71 have logged more than 20,000 hr. of flight time. One has flown more than 35,000 hr.
“When the PC-12 was launched, this milestone seemed light years away in the future,” says Ignaz Gretner, vice president of the Pilatus business aviation division. “You must give credit to the engineers who designed this incredibly robust airframe, the production team that builds outstanding quality into each unit, the sales team that found so many markets eager to adopt this versatile aircraft, and the support team so dedicated to keeping them in the air.”
In 2022, Pilatus delivered 80 new PC-12s with plans to boost production in 2023 to meet increased demand. The current model, the PC-12 NGX, is the third variant of the type. Over time, Pilatus has increased engine power and speed, introduced new executive cabin interiors, increased payload capacity and added the Electronic Propeller and Engine Control System (EPECS).
