Swiss-based Pilatus Aircraft has acquired Skytech, a U.S. service provider, aircraft vendor and long-term Pilatus business partner in the sales and service of Pilatus aircraft.
Skytech, founded in 1976, will continue to operate as an independent company and provide service and the sale of Pilatus PC-24 and PC-12 aircraft on the East Coast as well as aircraft types from other manufacturers, Pilatus says. It will continue to operate under the Skytech brand and retain its workforce of about 120. Skytech CEO Justin Lazzen will remain in his position.
The sale to Pilatus was part of a Skytech succession plan to replace owner and co-founder John Foster, the company says. The acquisition will allow Pilatus to expand its U.S. market. It currently operates Pilatus Business Aircraft in Colorado.
“The U.S. market is very important to us,” says Markus Bucher, Pilatus CEO. “It is essential that Pilatus continues to expand its ‘footprint’ .... I’m delighted to have the company and its staff on board with us.”
Skytech operates locations in Baltimore, Maryland, and Rock Hill, South Carolina.
