Dallas-based King Aerospace Commercial Corp. is growing and expanding its modification services to the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport near Rogers, Arkansas.
King Aerospace has leased two hangars with a focus on FAA Part 145 modification, engineering and integration services for mission-critical government or quasi-government widebody aircraft. The Arkansas facility, to be called KACC-ARK, will also provide maintenance, installation, program management and VIP interior refurbishment.
“Everything came together to make this opportunity right for us,” King Aerospace President Jarid King says. “This carefully planned growth broadens our support for customers and gives us the chance to touch even more lives.”
The expansion follows contact from private and government entities interested in specialized and advanced aircraft systems integration and modification projects, King says.
The hangars, each offering 58,368 sq. ft. of space, have undergone upgrades with shop facilities, exhaust systems, LED lighting and fire suppression and are large enough to hold multiple widebody aircraft. The facilities also offer 78,000 sq. ft. of engineering, shop and office space.
The space will be ready for occupancy May 1, the company says.
The hangars, which have access to the airport’s 8,800 ft. runway, have been dormant following the closure in 2004 of the employee-owned Ozark Aircraft Systems (OAS), a North American maintenance center for International Lease Finance Corp.
OAS formerly provided engineering, modification and maintenance for a variety of aircraft and custom-built interiors for VVIP aircraft, including Boeing Business Jets.
