It’s quite the comeback story for Execujet Flight Services on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

After two Category 5 hurricanes spaced only two weeks apart effectively destroyed the business in 2017, along with the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and razing of the company’s temporary facility, the FBO and fuel provider has reopened again at another temporary quarters at Cyril E. King Airport with a new management team.

Execujet’s temporary facility was needed as a direct result of damages caused by hurricanes Irma and Maria. That facility then was demolished in March 2022, leaving the doors effectively closed until a new temporary facility welcomed its first flight on Aug. 27 to revive the FBO.

The reopening comes with the new management team of Roy Romney as operations manager and Cromwell Freeman as operations supervisor. The two have worked together on St. Thomas for many years and have a combined 50 years of aviation experience between them, filling nearly all operational roles. In addition, the company will have two customer service representatives.

“I’m happy to be part of the team that will continue Execujet’s excellent reputation on St. Thomas,” says Romney. “My approach to managing the FBO is safety-first, followed by meeting customer needs and listening to customer feedback.”

Execujet President Britt Harrington says plans for a new facility are underway, but a completion date is still a moving target. “Execujet Flight Services has a 20-year history of aviation excellence on St. Thomas and has been my baby since 2009,” he says. “Between the hurricanes of 2017 and COVID, the past few years have had their hurdles, and I’m thrilled to have this new team in place.”

The FBO office is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with 24-hr. on-call service available upon request. Execujet Flight Services is an Avfuel-branded FBO that offers AVTRIP rewards and Avfuel Contract Fuel.
