The number of used business jets for sale in March 2023 increased 53% compared to a year ago, equal to 3.5% of the fleet for sale, and rose 6% compared to February 2023 inventory, according to Jefferies.
The inventory of jets less than seven years out of production rose 123% compared to a year ago, with pricing up 22%, Jefferies reports.
In March, 883 business jets were available for sale, compared to 831 in February 2023 and 578 in March 2022, a figure that was near historic lows.
Medium jet inventories in March were up 62% compared to a year ago, while light jet inventories rose 38% and heavy jet inventories were up 72%.
Bombardier business jets for sale rose 147% in March compared to a year ago with 79 jets for sale, while pricing rose 25% over the same period. Challenger jet pricing rose 18% compared to a year ago, Global jet pricing rose 26%, while Learjet pricing rose 94%.
The number of Cessna Citation jets for sale totaled 105 aircraft in March, up 88% compared to a year ago, or 2.7% of the active fleet. Average list prices, meanwhile, rose 29% compared to a year ago but were down 4% compared to February 2023.
Dassault jet inventory for sale rose 600% in March compared to a year ago with 14 aircraft for sale, a figure equal to 2.7% of the active fleet. That compares to 0.4% of the fleet for sale a year ago. Average list prices, meanwhile, rose 28% compared to a year ago.
The number of Embraer business jets for sale rose 150% in March compared to a year ago with 35 aircraft on the market, or 3.0% of the active fleet. Pricing, meanwhile, rose 28% compared to a year ago.
Gulfstream inventory, meanwhile, rose 120% in March to 55 aircraft, or 2.8% of the fleet compared to 1.3% of the fleet a year ago. Pricing, meanwhile, rose 1% compared to a year ago.
