Flexjet, a fractional provider based in Cleveland, Ohio, plans to add 22 aircraft to its mid- and super midsized fleet by the end of 2023, bringing its fleet of that size to 148 aircraft.

In all, the company’s fleet will grow to 270 by year-end, not including helicopters. The company launched a helicopter division earlier this year. Investment in mid- and super midsize aircraft has been vital to meeting growing demand for coast-to-coast travel, Flexjet officials say. Since 2018, its fleet will have more than doubled.

Flexjet’s aircraft includes the Embraer Phenom 300, Praetor 500 and Praetor 600, the Bombardier Challenger 350 and Challenger 3500 and the Gulfstream G450 and G650.

In 2022, Flexjet hired 350 additional pilots. In 2023, it plans to add 388 additional flight crew members and 338 aircraft maintenance technicians. In all, it plans to hire an additional 1,400 employees.

“Together with the existing Embraer Praetor 500 and Challenger 350 aircraft flying in our fleet, the addition of the Praetor 600 and the Challenger 3500 has given Flexjet the industry’s leading offering of mid- and super midsized aircraft,” says D.J. Hanlon, Flexjet executive vice president of sales. “The aircraft available to travelers within this offering present mission versatility that is unmatched by any other private aviation provider.”
