Cirrus Aircraft, based in Duluth, Minnesota, is celebrating the 9,000th delivery of its SR Series aircraft with the introduction of a Limited Edition run of the SR22T.
The company announced the milestone and Limited Edition aircraft at AERO Friedrichshafen, in Friedrichshafen, Germany, on April 20.
The original SR20 was introduced in 1999 followed by the SR22 in 2001 and the turbocharged SR22T in 2010. It celebrated the 6,000th delivery in 2015. The first aircraft was delivered in July 1999.
In 2022, Cirrus delivered 539 SR Series aircraft, including 100 SR20, 159 SR22 and 280 SR22T aircraft, according to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association. It also delivered 90 SF50 Vision Jets. That compares to 2021 deliveries of 442 SR aircraft, including 81 SR20, 131 SR22 and 230 SR22T aircraft.
“The SR Series continues to move people, businesses and imaginations as we reach another significant delivery milestone,” says Zean Nielsen, Cirrus Aircraft CEO. “Through our expanded aircraft ownership ecosystem, we are excited to continue introducing more people to personal aviation.”
The special edition SR aircraft was designed by Cirrus Aircraft’s Xi Design Studio and painted at Cirrus Aircraft’s paint and finish facility. It is available in four design schemes called the Balos, Lava, Magma and Santorini. Cirrus partnered with Sherwin-Williams to formulate the signature hues, called Lava orange and Aegean blue.
To commemorate the 9,000th delivery, Cirrus integrated the number nine throughout its design on the outside exterior, with the theme continuing inside the cabin with custom touches on the seats and embroidery.
With the 9,000th Limited Edition, the company introduced Cirrus all-weather floor liners to protect the aircraft from mud, sand, water, dirt and more. The aircraft will be outfitted with the Bose A30 aviation headset and Garmin International’s D2 aviation watch, with custom bands matching the 9,000th livery.
