Chen Chuanren is the Southeast Asia and China Editor for the Aviation Week Network’s (AWN) Air Transport World (ATW) and the Asia-Pacific Defense Correspondent for AWN, joining the team in 2017.
Prior joining AWN, Chuanren was a regular serviceman in the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Air Defense and Operations Command. He now serves the RSAF Air Force Information Center as a reservist. He holds a Bachelor of Mass Communications as well as a Diploma in Mechatronics (Aerospace).
Cathay Pacific Airways posted a net profit of HK$1.7 billion ($217 million) in 2019, down 28% year-over-year (YOY), as anti-government protests that began in June 2019 precipitated a significant decline in what is usually a stronger period for the airline.
