Goa, India, is to have a new international greenfield airport at Mopa, giving it two airports. The airport will be constructed by the state government on a build-own-operate-transfer basis. A request for proposals will soon be released to international players.
Low-cost carrier Jetstar has picked Melbourne and Auckland as its first two long-haul destinations out of Singapore, with flights to the Australian city starting in December and to Auckland, in March 2011. The Qantas-controlled airline will operate the services using its new 303-seater A330-200 aircraft.
