Singapore Flying College, the pilot training arm of Singapore Airlines, is investing more than A$40 million ($34.5 million) at Sunshine Coast Airport near Maroochydore, Queensland, Australia, for new jet trainer aircraft and flight simulators. The school, which operates two facilities in Australia, is acquiring five new Cessna Mustang C510 aircraft, the first of which has arrived at its base in Maroochydore. One of two new flight simulators has also arrived.

Malaysia Airlines says it has not made a final decision on its order for six Airbus A380s despite raising the possibility of canceling the contract because of repeated delivery delays. The comments by CEO Azmil Zahruddin follow remarks by Deputy Transport Minister Abdul Rahim Bakri, who told the Malaysian parliament the airline would not cancel its order.

The Chinese commercial aviation industry is being hit with a major crackdown on corruption that has led to the suicide of one government official and the arrest of other government and airline officials. The focus of the campaign is bribery for favorable route rights granted by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), with China Southern, the country’s largest airline, most deeply embroiled.
