An Oct. 4 GOL passenger flight between São Paulo Congonhas Airport and Brazil’s national capital Brasilia was the first South American commercial airline flight to have onboard internet connectivity, according to GOL CEO Paulo Kakinoff in a statement delivered in flight and transmitted live on GOL’s Facebook page.

Taiwan's EVA Air will celebrate its 25th anniversary of flights from Taiwan to Europe in November 2016. Vienna was the Taipai-based carrier's first destination. The Boeing 777-300ER has replaced the Airbus A330-200 on the Vienna-Bangkok-Taipeh route from Oct. 4. ATW correspondent Kurt Hofmann was invited onboard the 777-300ER in Vienna.
