What’s Happening at World Routes?

This year’s 19th World Route Development Forum takes place in the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas. The Routes Team have meticulously planned every last detail to ensure an event programme packed with variety and endless opportunities to meet and network with key industry contacts, both new and old. Throughout the event there will be ample opportunity to engage with industry leaders through our multi-stream programme, with time periods dedicated to Face-to-Face Meetings, Interline Meetings, and exhibition stand visits for the event duration.

Here at Routes we believe that mixing business with pleasure is an effective catalyst in ensuring business success and progression. With this in mind there are plenty of engaging activities on offer that allow you to really experience the sights, sounds and spectacle that is Las Vegas. Our evening events allow you to take in the city’s charm in some of the most exclusive and iconic venues. On Saturday evening we will kick start World Routes 2013 at the magnificent Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino and on Monday the Las Vegas Networking Evening will be held at the infamous Caesars Palace. The event will not only include drinks, dinner, entertainment and dancing but will also include the presentation ceremony for the 2013 World Routes Marketing Awards.

World Routes Strategy Summit

Learn what’s happening in the industry and keep your finger on the pulse of the latest developments. Key themes that will be debated at the World Routes Strategy Summit include:

World Routes Tourism Summit

The inaugural World Tourism Summit will be a high level conference which will address a number of current industry issues including: how governments can align their tourism, economic development and aviation strategies; and securing investment funds for tourism development.

Routes Talks

The Routes Talks Seminar Theatres, located in the Networking Village and open to all delegates, are a unique space for briefings, presentations and discussions. These dedicated themed “Talks” sessions will include; Social Media and Destination Briefings including insight from industry peers confirmed sessions include speakers from Facebook, Changi Airport, PR Newswire, Nasair, Porto Airport, ASM, PATA and Japan Tourism.

Invest & Manage

Invest and Manage will be a series of briefings focussing onthe best practise investment and operational strategies for financing airport development. With some of the key global investors presenting the key deals which have been concluded over the last 2 years and hear about prospective future deals.

Route Exchange

The Route Exchange Airline Briefings, given by senior network planners, are an opportunity for attending airports to gain an overview of the carriers, allowing them to view, first-hand, what information the airline requires from the airports when making route proposals. The 2013 event will see three Route Exchange Theatres within the Networking Village which in total will seat around 150 delegates.

Networking Lunch

Networking lunches are scheduled on, Monday and Tuesday and are the ideal environment to discuss and engage with industry stakeholders in a relaxed environment. This year’s Tuesday networking lunch will see World Routes officially handed over to Chicago, the host of the 20thWorld Routes Development Forum in 2014.

Farewell Reception

Hosted by the Chicago Department of Aviation, Host of World Routes in 2014 this is a chance to finish off those important meetings in a relaxed atmosphere and say goodbye to contacts old and new until the next Routes event.
