Routes Asia Awards
There is still time to vote or campaign to your airlines in the second regional heat of the 2014 Routes Awards.
Airlines from within the Asia region should consider the efficient use of marketing activities by an airport over the last 12 months when deciding who to nominate. The annual Routes awards are highly regarded as the most prestigious awards in the industry as they are voted for and judged by the airline network planning community. These much sought after awards are a great way for the winning airports to have a credible recognition which they can proudly talk about to their customers and other stakeholders.
Winners of the awards, which recognise the marketing performance of airports within the Asia-Pacific region, will be announced during the Routes Asia Networking Evening which will be held on Monday 10th March at the event in Kuching.
Simply click here and log in to your Routesonline profile to nominate (in priority order) up to five airports in your network within the region, irrespective of their size. Voting will remain open until Thursday 20th February 2014 and shortlisted airports will be announced shortly after this deadline.
Hotel & Flight Information
If you have not yet secured your flights and hotel reservation, you should do so as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. This year’s event will be held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching which, though built on the riverfront of the Kuching Isthmus among the tranquillity of the tropical rainforest, is only minutes away from Kuching International Airport and the city centre.
There are many hotels to choose from in Kuching but, during Routes Asia, we recommend staying in one of the official event hotels as not only will delegates benefit from preferential rates but also complimentary transfers to the event venue, networking evening and Kuching International Airport.

We are also delighted to announce Malaysia Airlines as the event official carrier. Exclusive to all Routes Asia delegates, Malaysia Airlines are pleased to be able to extenda 15% discount across all of their published fares which will be applicable on the lowest ticketed fare at time of purchase.

Visa Requirements
Make sure you have all the necessary documentation to travel to Malaysia. Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months beyond the period of stay, however, most nationalities do not require visas for social or business visits within a certain period. Further information regarding which countries will require a visa to enter Malaysia can be found here.
In addition to the visa application form, relevant fees and photos, embassies may also require a letter of invitation from the inviting company. Delegates requiring such a document from our host, the Ministry of Tourism Sarawak, should complete the electronic request form in full ensuring accuracy throughout.
Click here for further information on how to begin your visa application process and to request your invitation letter. Most embassies and consulates accept a scanned copy of the invitation letter and therefore our host will issue the letters to applicants via email as an attachment.
We’ll see you in Kuching, Sarawak for Routes Asia 2014!
