Routes Asia, taking place 9-11 March in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, attracts the highest level of senior decision makers and is the essential event for all those interested in meeting with the industry's key players to discuss air service development to, from and within the entire Asia-Pacific region
The 12th Routes Asia 2014 event, now only three weeks away, is expected to attract representation from around 100 airlines, 230 airports and over 20 tourism authorities along with a number of other industry stakeholders from across the region to discuss air service development.

Currently 96 airlines, represented by senior delegations, have confirmed their attendance at the event in Kuching with the most recent registrations coming from Cathay Pacific, Korean Air and Error: Unknown profile. Low cost carriers will attend in force with registrations received from the likes of Scoot, Spring Airlines, Lion Air, HK Express and Cebu Pacific Air along with the AirAsia Group and Jetstar Groups.
The event will also see a strong representation of national carriers including China Southern Airlines, All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd., Malaysia Airlines, Air China, Air India and Japan Airlines whilst from out of the region carriers such as British Airways, S7 Airlines, Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways have also confirmed their attendance. Attending the event for the first time in 2014 are LOT Polish Airlines; NokScoot, a start up, joint venture between Nok Air and Scoot; Norwegian; VietJet Air, who have recently placed a $9.1 Billion order for over 90 Airbus A320’s and Cambodia Angkor Air. Over 230 airport delegates representing almost 140 airports have also registered to attend the event to date. During the last few weeks new registrations have been received from a number airports and tourism authorities including GMR Hyderabad International Airport, Dublin Airport, Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, Tourism Australia, Clark International Airport, Okinawa Convention & Visitors Bureau , Abu Dhabi Airports, Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority and Aeroport de Tahiti Faa'a who will attend the event for the first time.
In addition to the Face-to-Face Meetings which are at the heart of the event Routes Asia will open with the Routes Asia Strategy Summit and will include a programme of six Route Exchange Airline Briefings. Many high level industry speakers will take part in the Strategy Summit including the Managing Director of event co-hosts, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, the CEO of AirAsia X and the Minister of Tourism for the Philippines along with other airline CEOs and other experts in the field.
This year, the event will see Route Exchange Airline Briefings from Hong Kong Airlines Limited, Garuda Indonesia, Go First, HK Express, Malaysia Airlines and LOT Polish Airlines.
Route Exchange Airline Briefings are exclusively open to attending airport and tourism authority delegates. Held in private theatres on the show floor and delivered by senior network planners, Route Exchange Airline Briefings provide delegates with an opportunity to gain an insight into their target & current airline partners’ business. They are the only place to further develop your understanding of the route planning function of airlines.
