This year’s World Routes Strategy Summit will see participation from further senior industry figures from the Middle East with the additions of Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways and James Hogan, CEO of Etihad Airways to the programme.
The World Routes Strategy Summit, which is sponsored by Oman Airports Management Company, will take place over two days on Sunday 21 and Monday 22 September at World Routes in Chicago. It will bring together over 60 CEOs and senior leaders from across the route development and aviation industries to participate in discussions that will set the commercial and political agenda for the aviation industry in the coming 12-18 months.
Mr Hogan, who will give a keynote address and Mr Al Baker, who will take part in a panel discussion on Critical Issues in Air Transport Today, both recently confirmed that they will speak at the Summit and will join Sir Tim Clark, President & CEO of Emirates who also has a keynote role at the event.
The World Routes Strategy Summit is open to all attending delegates and will open the 20th World Route Development Forum which will take place in Chicago, Illinois, USA co-hosted by the City of Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) and Choose Chicago, the city’s tourism organisation.
Furthermore it was recently announced that Scott Kirby, President of American Airlines will also deliver a keynote address during the Strategy Summit, which is the only forum where senior leaders and key stakeholders from aviation, tourism authorities and governments come together to participate in moderator led panel discussions. The event will bring these industry thought leaders under one roof to participate in a number of discussions covering topics affecting the industry today such as route development, infrastructure, airport processing and security, sustainability, regulatory challenges and how new aircraft will alter route planning.
Other senior airline personnel who will participate in the Summit include; Vitaly Savelyev, CEO of Aeroflot, Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Josh Marks, CEO of masFlight and Jim Compton, Vice Chairman & Chief Revenue Officer for Chicago-based United Airlines who will deliver the keynote address at this year’s Summit.
The 20th anniversary World Routes event will be held at Chicago’s McCormick Place, the largest convention facility in the Western Hemisphere.
