Ethiopian Airlines (ET) has placed an order with Aviation Partners Boeing (APB) for blended winglets for its Boeing 767-300ERs—a fleet it has already begun to retire. The order includes three firm and seven options. Installation will take place at the ET Addis Ababa maintenance facility and begin with three aircraft in February.

BOC Aviation entered into a sale and leaseback transaction for four new Embraer 195s, the lessor's first such transaction involving Embraer aircraft. The aircraft are on long-term lease to Brazil's Azul. Two have been delivered and two are scheduled for delivery by the 2012 second quarter.

Boeing on Thursday opened its new Interiors Fabrication facility in North Charleston, S.C. The Interiors Responsibility Center South Carolina team will manufacture 787 interior parts including stowbins, closets, partitions, class dividers, floor-mounted stowbins used by flight attendants, overhead rests for flight-crews and flight attendants, video control stations and attendant modules for Boeing South Carolina.

International Lease Finance Corp. (ILFC) entered into a sale-leaseback arrangement with American Airlines (AA) to finance 15 previously ordered Boeing 737-800NextGen aircraft. Two aircraft have been delivered; the rest are scheduled for delivery in 2012.

Aero Instruments & Avionics has purchased the Teradyne Spectrum CTS, an advanced ATE solution for commercial aviation, replacing the ATS-182a, which it currently operates. The solution is designed to perform complete diagnostics on the avionics systems of the Boeing 737, 747, 757, 767, 737NG and 777. It also offers future capability to support the 787 and 747-8. Bombardier has released "Aircraft Diagnostics Solutions (ADS) Plus" for Dash 8/Q-Series 100/200/300 aircraft.

Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras took delivery of the first ATR 72-600 be delivered to a Latin American customer. Fast-growing carrier Azul has placed orders for a total of 30 -600s, with 10 options. In addition to the turboprops, Azul operates a jet fleet of Embraer 190s and 195s.

China Eastern Airlines took delivery of its first Boeing 737-700NG outfitted with the high-altitude/high-temperature airport operations feature package and the new sky interior. China Eastern Airlines Sichuan Co. will operate the aircraft at high altitude airports in western China. GECAS delivered two new Boeing 737-800s to Skymark Airlines.
